Whilst QPL is not operating in an industry sector that causes significant impact on pollution levels, we recognize the need to minimize our impact on the environment. As a result, QPL's environmental policy established the principles that will allow QPL to responsibly manage environmental issues and the activities, and services of our office–based operations in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
Below is a list of QPL's environmental initiatives that have been implemented into our business to date:
Minimising Waste
- All resumes of the candidates are captured electronically and candidates registering for work do not fill out paper based application forms, with all information captured electronically during the application interview process.
- All right to work information is captured electronically, directly onto the candidates' file.
- Electronic timesheeting has been in place since 2008.
- Electronic faxing rather than paper based.
- Co-mingled recycling bins in each office.
Carbon Emissions
- Reduction in interstate travel by utilising video conference facilities in each state office.
- Working with our clients to reduce their carbon footprint by their use of our video conference facilities when recruiting, rather than flying interstate .
Energy Conservation
- QPL use Thin Clients which utilise 90% less energy than traditional PC's and require less materials and energy to produce. http://www.wyse.com/green/index.asp
- All terminals that sit idle for more than 30 minutes automatically power off.
- It is company policy that all consultants manually turn off their computer screens at the end of the day, but they will automatically power off if not done.
Suppliers
If any QPL becomes aware of any supplier sustainability issues (social or environmental), then QPL will investigate and take appropriate steps to work with the supplier and remediate the issue. If the issue cannot be resolved to QPL's satisfaction then QPL will change suppliers
